A vacuum cleaner is a one-time investment for cleaning your house. Besides a vacuum cleaner, the basic things you require for cleaning are microfiber dusters, sponge, toilet cleaning brushes, used toothbrushes, liquid dish wash, liquid toilet cleaner, disinfectant liquid, bucket, and gloves.

Cleaning your Bathroom:

Keep your bathrooms clean by cleaning it at least every alternate day. Instead of drinking Cola, use it for cleaning your toilet. Cola contains phosphoric acid, which cleans tough stains in the toilet. You can use a toothbrush to clean the washbasin and narrow areas where your bathroom scrub or brush can’t reach. After cleaning, spray disinfectant all over your toilet to keep it germ-free. Use microfiber duster to clean the mirrors and glass doors.

Vinegar and Water Solution:

Vinegar is one of the things that are on our kitchen shelf, and it can clean quite a few things in our home. Mix white vinegar and water in equal parts and store it in a spray bottle. You can spray this solution on your glass windows, shower doors, mirrors, and taps.

Lemon is another cleaning agent and also helps in deodorizing. Cut a lemon and keep it in the microwave. Set the timer to three minutes and once the timer is off, leave it for five to six minutes. Now use a damp cloth and clean all the tough stains and food particles that were stuck in your microwave.

Baking Soda:

Baking soda can be used to deodorize your carpet and mattress. Just sprinkle a bit over your carpet and mattress and then vacuum after an hour. It will get rid of the bad odor.

Cleaning the Sponge:

The sponge used in the kitchen has little food particles in between the crevices. Every night after you’re done the cleaning, keep the sponge dipped in hot water and liquid detergent solution. The alternate method to clean the sponge is to leave it in the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes. Once it cools down, it is free from germs and clean to use again.

If possible, clean your kitchen appliances like oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and mixer grinder every day or at least alternate days. To clean the dishwasher, pour some white vinegar in the detergent section. Turn it on after you’re done washing all the dishes to clean the dishwasher.

To clean the coffee maker, fill the carafe with water and vinegar solution. Turn ON the machine and run till it is half full, turn the machine OFF. Leave it for an hour.  Turn ON the machine to complete the cycle, and then remove the solution. Turn it ON by repeating the process with plain water and turn OFF once the cycle is complete.

To clean your fridge, just keep a few lemons sliced into two in a bowl of water. This will deodorize your fridge.

Cleaning the Blinds:

Take a clean damp cloth, just run each blind with your fingers. You can also use an old mitten or sock that is not usable any more to clean the blinds.
